Challenger openers were originally equipped with varying types of radio receivers, and transmitters (remote controls). If you cannot determine what type you have, we recommend that you install a new radio receiver/transmitter. The new radio gear will also make your opener HomeLink compatible and features the new rolling code technology for added security. The one we recommend is our HomeLink Conversion Kit found below. It is easy to install.
